“This incredibly powerful tool is easy to use and will not require specialized training. Retailers will be able to reduce their counterfeit coupon losses in a matter of seconds with a few simple steps and with zero infrastructure or equipment costs,” said CIC’s Executive Director, Bud Miller, CPP. “We are particularly pleased that the App has already been successfully used to review suspect coupons seized during a law enforcement case. This App will provide valuable support to law enforcement, retailers of all sizes and CIC Members 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
The CIC® Suspect Coupon Checker was designed by an expert team that included manufacturers, retailers, CIC staff and an App development company. The App will enable:
- Instant determination if a suspect coupon has previously been identified as a counterfeit in the CIC database
- Reporting of suspect coupons to the CIC for review and action
The App runs on iOS/Android smartphones and tablets, eliminating any equipment or software costs beyond access to a smartphone. Built-in tutorials can get new users up and running in just a few minutes.
All counterfeit coupon loss prevention services CIC provides to retailers are free of charge. Retailers and law enforcement officials interested in the App or other CIC services can contact the CIC via its website at www.cicweb.analitk.com or at (239) 331-7280.
Ultimately, the App will benefit consumers by reducing financial losses due to counterfeit coupons and enhancing overall industry integrity.
